ASE Blue Seal of Excellence
Virginia Tire & Auto’s Chantilly, Gainesville, Centreville and Ashburn/Dulles locations have all received Blue Seal of Excellence Recognition from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
ASE is the only nationally recognized independent organization in the United States that tests and certifies automotive service professionals, distinguishing those who have a high degree of commitment to automotive excellence and training. To qualify for Blue Seal of Excellence recognition, 75% of an auto repair facility’s technicians must be ASE-certified. In addition, there must be a certified technician in each area of service offered. To remain in the program, a business must renew each year and confirm their professionals’ certification status.
Only 1,400 shops in the United States have qualified for the Blue Seal of Excellence program and of those, only 32 such auto repair facilities are located in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Company-wide, Virginia Tire & Auto employees hold more than 235 individual ASE certifications including: engine repair, automatic transmission, manual drive train & axels, suspension & steering, brakes, electronic systems, heating & air condition and engine performance.
The ASE certification program is a win-win for all –vehicle-owners can rely on ASE-certified technicians who have proven themselves to be knowledgeable professionals and certified auto professionals can showcase their ASE certifications.
There are more than 350,000 professionals who hold ASE certifications. Upon passing at least one ASE exam and after providing proof of two years of hands-on work experience, a professional becomes ASE certified. Those professionals must be retested every five years to maintain ASE and Master certification.
